New message from Alex O'Loughlin to fans about blood drives!

Alex O'Loughlin has sent a new message to all his fans! *cheer* It is soooooo good to hear from him again :) He writes about his continuing support for the American Red Cross and the Moonlight fans' blood drive. We know that Alex is a gracious, sincere person who wouldn't become involved with a charity if he didn't mean it. It never even entered my mind that he would turn his back on the campaign simply because Moonlight was canceled. Alex is not that kind of guy.... another reason that he means so much to us!

I'm reposting the video of Alex's wonderful public service announcement for the Red Cross.

Alex O'Loughlin's work on The Shield Season 6 to be released on DVD!

My good friend, Cinnamon, gave me some great news to share with you... Alex O'Loughlin appeared as Detective Kevin Hiatt on season 6 of The Shield (tv show). He was a wonderful addition to the cast. Alex made the character compelling and won over the fans, even tho Hiatt seems to be brought in to take over the job of beloved lead character Vic Mackey. The episode that introduces him is appropriately called "The New Guy."

We have been waiting ~ not very patiently ~ for the DVD to become available. A date has finally been announced for it to come out. The Shield season six will be released on August 26th, 2008! Mark your calendars :)

If you are like me and can hardly wait, you can pre-order your copy of the DVD now using this Amazon link.....

New Alex O'Loughlin photo wallpaper ~ Mick St John in uniform

New Alex O'Loughlin photo wallpaper ~ I had three cool photographs of Mick St John in uniform for Moonlight's WWII flashback episode, What's Left Behind (#1x15). Since I couldn't pick just one as the best, all of the pictures ended up in this desktop background. I hope you like it :)

Video ~ Mick & Josef scene dubbed in German

This video shows a famous Mick St John & Josef Kostan scene from Moonlight's pilot episode (No Such Things as Vampires #1x01). It contains some of my fave quotes ~

"What is it? Like... Non-fat, soy, Vegan blood?"

"Vampire experts ~ beautiful! Now, we got the food mouthing off about the farmer"

"Vampire solidarity ~ rah, rah, rah and all that"

Moonlight is now airing in Germany. This clip is an example of the German dialogue dubbing. Isn't it weird to hear other voices instead of Alex O'Loughlin & Jason Dohring?!?

TV Guide asks ~ What's Stuck on Your DVR?

TV Guide is asking fans to tell them What's "Stuck" on Your DVR? Moonlight fans are watching saved episodes over and over for that Mick St John fix. We miss our show! Tell TV Guide and everyone reading that we have not forgotten or give up on Moonlight! Leave a comment there and let them know how you feel.

Note ~ You can only comment if you have an account on their website.

We all have those awesome shows (or delicious guilty pleasures) we can't seem to bring ourselves to delete from our DVR hard drive. Heck, we even fessed up to some of ours!

Now, it's your turn. We want everything from the sacred (Grey's Anatomy's Season 2 Finale) to the shameful (every episode of Flavor of Love) and everything in between.

Along with the blood drive shirt, two others are available right now. One is for all fans who have loved & lost a show.... Jericho, Las Vegas, Journeyman, etc. "Hell hath no fury like a fan scorned!" There is also an Alex O'Loughlin fan club tee. The graphic is composed of many images of our favorite guy. :) Ooooooo.... and if you wanna peek at the site itself ~ www.officialalexoloughlinfanclub.com

I really like this photo of Jason Dohring and Alex O'Loughlin displaying the tshirt. They are too adorable! It reminds me of the happy days when we still had Moonlight and our cast was out promoting it.

Voting for Moonlight & Sophia Myles in TV.com Awards

The 2008 TV.com awards have two categories that need our attention.

Moonlight is included in the Axed Before Its Time category.

http://www.tv.com/tv-awards/?page=1

Sophia Myles is competing in the Best Fake American Accent category as our Beth Turner.

http://www.tv.com/tv-awards/?page=26

I don't know why they didn't chose Alex O'Loughlin for the accent contest. He has such a wonderful voice period, and has played an American numerous times. A friend of mine did not even realize that Alex was Australian until I told her. The TV.com poll definitely favors actors from the UK..... Hugh Laurie, Ed Westwick, Jamie Bamber and Sophia.

Moonlight debuts on German television today

All our friends in Germany are especially happy....... Moonlight premieres on ProSieben (Pro 7) today! More international love for our show :) This cover is from German guide "TV Spielfilm XXL." As you can see, Holly Valance is the cover story. Poor Alex O'Loughlin ~ er ~ Mick St John is relegated to a small photo and Moonlight mentioned at the bottom. At least, he is still on the magazine cover. I know you are shocked to hear that I think Alex should have been the only one gracing the front page. *grin*

They did a nice write up for the show. I'll post it here for you. The translation was hilarious but very confusing, so I left it in the original German. Here is an example of the translator's English version...........

"No less than 20 tons wobbled with the transmitter in, and even in the hospital CBS president Nina Tassler before the loud cult municipality was not safe: " A physician in the laboratory smock came purely. I feared already, I would have an incurable illness, when he suddenly hervorzog" a bag of peanuts; , Tassler remembers."

See what I mean ~ hahaha! Basically, they are talking about fan campaigns to save shows, such as Roswell & Jericho... with emphasis on our Save Moonlight efforts, the blood drive and so on.

The Super Summer Series : Dr. Psycho - Moonlight - Doctors Diary

Moonlight - Pro Sieben, Mo., 23.6.2008, 20.15 Uhr:

Thank you for standing by me!

I do not have the words to express how much your kindness and concern mean to me... how much YOU mean to me. Your messages are so sweet. My uncle's services were yesterday. I must admit we were a bit paranoid about answering the phone when we made it home afterward. These last few days are such a blur. I appreciate you standing by me through this ordeal! You are the best!

Thank you from my entire family.... and myself, of course :)

TV.com article about our DirecTV campaign to Save Moonlight

Enterprising Moonlight fans are getting the word out to various media outlets about our efforts to save our show! Tim Surette ( from TV.com ) has written an article regarding the DirecTV campaign.

Rumor: DirecTV looking at adopting Moonlight
By Tim Surette

Could the vampire drama be saved by the same people who saved Friday Night Lights?

There are hardcore fans, and there are hardcore fans. The guy with the Dwight Schrute bobblehead doll on his desk? He's kind of hardcore. Moonlight fans? They're really hardcore.

Moonlight fans are attempting to pull a Jericho with the recently canceled vampire drama, making it undead. They've put the line out there in attempts to hook a new network or television provider for Moonlight, and it looks like they may have at least a nibble.

According to Moonlight fan site Moonlight Line, which is attempting to resurrect the show, DirecTV has inquired about possibly picking up the program. Though DirecTV may seem like an odd choice--basic-cablers such as Sci Fi Channel seemed possible destinations--the satellite service has already acted as life preserver for another well-loved drama treading water.

In April, it was officially announced that DirecTV had reached a deal with NBC to keep Friday Night Lights on the air. The unique arrangement would see DirecTV have first-airing rights, with NBC rebroadcasting the show four months later.

It's unclear what DirecTV has plotted for Moonlight, but the company is apparently interested in at least considering something. According to one of the board's higher-ups, DirecTV asked the site to post a poll asking what members thought of DirecTV sponsoring the show. The poll is up with the following three answers: "No problem, I already have DirecTV," "I'll switch to DirecTV in a hot second," and "Not switching."

The results of the simple market research would then be looked over by DirecTV who would determine if any of this makes financial sense. As of press time, 21 percent said they already have DirecTV, 71 percent said they would switch, and seven percent said they wouldn't switch.

This is great news for Moonlight fans, but probably best to hold off on hosting a bloodsucking party until something official comes out.

DirecTv poll ~ Would you become a subscriber?

Several thoughtful fans passed on this information to me. Thank you! You have been wonderful about making it easier for me to keep up to date during these horrible days when I have limited time online.

You are doing a fantastic job of contacting not only the networks, but also flooding DirecTv with mail asking them to step up to financially sponsor a second season of Moonlight :) Now, Leeser ( from Moonlightline ) has posted a poll at their request. She has said that they will be monitoring the numbers. Apparently, they want to get an idea of fan willingness to subscribe to their service ~ if they arrange a deal with Moonlight similar to what they did for Friday Night Lights.

Note : If you would like to vote, you must become a member of the forum first.

If DirecTV does indeed decide to help sponsor the show, would you switch toDirecTV as your service provider, do you already HAVE DirecTV, or will youNOT switch at all?

No problem. I already have DirecTV!
I'll switch to DirecTV in a hot second!
Not switching.

You are so amazing & caring!

Thank you all for the concerned cards, emails and comments. Your sympathy has touched not only myself, but everyone in our family. I can not thank you enough!

I'm afraid I have more sad news to share with you.........

Leeser & Poof, from Moonlightline, have had a death in their family also. Lisa's step-father passed away. I know you will join me in sending thoughts & prayers their way.

After these emotionally exhausting days and the long physically exhausting trip for the funeral, we finally arrived home. Everyone was sprawled about the living room trying to regroup... and telling stories. We had not been home for an hour when I received a call from my sister. Another death in our family. Our Uncle passed away. He was a funny and very family oriented man. He will be dearly missed!

Tuned In Journal: 'Moonlight' fans gather ... in daylight!
By Rob Owen, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Local fans of the canceled CBS vampire drama "Moonlight" plan to have a picnic. In the daylight.

Fans will gather outside the Schenley Park visitor center, 12-4 p.m., Saturday.

"Come help us support 'Moonlight,'" says a release put out by local fan Dorothy Jadlowiec and her granddaughter. "There will be donuts, cold drinks and lots of people who love a certain, sexy vampire, his lovely lady and his snarky but lovable friend!"

But why in daylight? And why at Schenley Park and not in front of KDKA where they'd get a lot of attention since the Three Rivers Arts Festival has set up shop in front of the station's Gateway Center HQ?

Jaclowiec, who is 80 and lives in California, Pa., said fans chatting online made plans to meet in parks across the country (Central Park in New York and Griffith Park in Los Angeles).

"We didn't want to be that obvious," she said of the notion of rallying in front of KDKA. Besides, the campaign to get the show renewed has moved away from CBS. Now fans are encouraging Sci Fi Channel and DirecTV to give the show a shot.

"We're getting four or five people from the area and people are bringing people," she said. "We're getting a contingent from Ohio because they didn't get their act together."

Jadlowiec said she's one of the show's older fans; most top out in their 50s or 60s.

"My grandkids have been in awe since I got pages on Facebook and MySpace," she said. "My kids call it, 'What is Grandma up to now?'"

And how did she become a local "Moonlight" leader?

"I opened my big mouth," she said.

Jadlowiec, who goes by the name Arabella online (she also writes an Internet magazine devoted to classic films), said fans will not be wearing fangs at their rally Saturday.

"But we will be wearing shirts" devoted to "Moonlight," she said. "I got my 5-year-old great-granddaughter a shirt that says, 'It's Friday night, do you know where your vampire is?'"

San Francisco Moonlight fan rally ~ Saturday, June 14th

Can't turn my brain off. I thought I would spend a little time with Moonlight and you :)

Plus..... there is great positive news to pass on. As you know, there are Moonlight fan rallies planned all over the country this Saturday. The San Francisco Bay gathering is already receiving wonderful press attention from InsideBayArea.com.

“Moonlight” Fans Refuse To Give Up
By Chuck Barney

You’ve gotta love those “Moonlight” fans. They refuse to take “you’re canceled” for an answer.

After the vampire drama was axed in May by CBS, the loyalists bore their fangs and rallied together in hopes of bringing the show back from the dead, a la “Jericho” last summer. They’ve put out ads. They’ve had blood drives. Now they’re having a series of picnics, including one right here in the East Bay.

The event is set for Saturday at the Berkeley Marina in Caesar Chavez Park and it will run from noon to 3 p.m. Lynne T., one of the organizers, says everyone is welcome to attend and admission is free. They’re also promising free food and entertainment.

In addition to the event in Berkeley, there are picnic rallies scheduled this weekend in New York’s Central Park, downtown Orlando, Portland, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.

The picnics are all part of a grssroots campaign targeting the Sci-Fi Network to pick up the show and DirecTV to underwrite production costs. For more info on the campaign, click here.

Moonlight fans win TV Squad award as Nuttiest Fans

We are not surprised by this win, are we? :)

By the way.... TV Squad included a video of Mick & Josef drinking from his freshie (which is a scene from Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata episode #1x16) with the article. I did not post it here beause it is a CBS hosted clip. After CBS canceled our show, I decided not to put any more of their videos on the blog.

The Nuttiest Fans Award: Winner
by Annie Wu

Ladies and gentlemen and vampires, the winner of the TV Squad Nuttiest Fans Award 2008 is... Moonlight!

Punches were thrown, names were called, hearts were broken, but the TV Squad team has made its decision. Not only did Moonlight win the Readers Choice, but we decided that the fans of the show are the most scarily hardcore out of the five nominees.

This was a tough decision, with both the fans of Jericho and members of the Colbert Nation putting up a fair fight. All three groups have done considerable work for charity and have made their dedication well-known through various bizarre acts of fan-love. However, the overwhelming excitement for Moonlight has been compared to the likes of the the Beatlemania era. For a show that has lasted only one season, that's pretty darn impressive.

I experienced some of this manic fanaticism first-hand. As I have mentioned before, I attended the Moonlight panel at this year's New York Comic-Con. I spent the majority of the session in the secluded balcony seating, as I was genuinely a little freaked out by the shrieking horde below. Luckily, I had made it up there before the stars of the show, Alex O'Loughlin and Jason Dohring, appeared onstage. My eardrums would have burst otherwise, I swear. However, even that couldn't compare to the intensity of the crowd's reactions during the clips from the show itself. Words cannot describe the shrill, absolute glee that filled the room, especially when Shannyn Sossamon got a chair leg through the chest.

Fans have also teamed up with Red Cross in organizing dozens of blood drives across the country. Over 3,000 fans promised to donate a pint each in an effort to show their support for a possible Season Two. Even show star O'Loughlin joined in, serving as the official spokesman for the effort, as the drive followed him through various promotional appearances.

What is it about vampire-themed things that make fans extra nutty? Anne Rice's work has had incredible followings, the mediocre Twilight series has an unusually large fanbase and Sesame Street's Count has groupies lined up 'round the block. I guess ladies can't resist broody, pale men and their sharpened canines.

Detroit Moonlight rally in the news

The Detroit area Moonlight fans rally is getting some media attention! YEA! Mekeisha Madden Toby has written the following blurb about the gathering for The Detriot News. Remember, the picnic & rally takes place tomorrow :)

Metro Detroiters obviously feel an affinity for Alex O'Loughlin and "Moonlight," too. Local fans of the show will be holding a petitioners' picnic and rally to urge CBS to rethink its decision to kill the series. The local effort is one of several happening all over the country this weekend. The "Moonlight" picnic and rally will take place 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday at the Southfield Civic Center Park, 26533 Evergreen Road, Southfield. For more information, e-mail Bob Eccles at
